POKEMON NOCTIS RELATED QUESTIONS:
1. What is Noctis?
Pokemon Noctis is a statless, freeform Pokemon roleplaying site. It is PG-16+ for mature themes. We’re still in beta, so if you have any helpful suggestions or critique, please submit them here.
2. Where is Noctis?
Noctis is its own stand-alone region; it doesn’t correlate to the other regions in really any shape, way, or form. There is a map available here for you to use as a visual guide.
3. What is Noctis’ history?
Noctis’ history is up to you to decide – the community is the one who ends up writing the pages of its history book, so to speak. Your character’s impact on the site will be recorded accordingly as events pass.
4. Can I bring a premade character to this site?
Yes. As long as your character meets the character requirements, it is totally acceptable to bring an already premade character.
5. Is there an age requirement for our characters?
No. It is recommended that you create a character at least 13 years of age, however. Noctis’ characters are varied, yes, as is so the environment. It can be a harrowing journey and it is not recommended for everyone.
6. What are Pokemorphs?
Pokemorphs are essentially people fused with Pokemon DNA. On most Pokemon RPGs, they are nonexistent, or very rare. On Noctis, their species is more prevalent. Humans have come to accept the fact that such people exist, but there are the unusual few that deem Pokemorphs as atrocities of nature. Pokemorphs, as a whole, generally represent the Pokemon whose DNA they have: whether it be through physical characteristics or through behavior and personality traits, or both combined, they’re generally easy to deduce as a species.
7. Can I make a Pokemorph character?
Yes, you are allowed to create a Pokemorph character. However, if you wish to create more than one, you will be required to create two more human characters for each Pokemorph character you have to balance it out. This rule only came in effect recently when we realized how out-of-control the Pokemorph population was (oops!).
8. Can I capture a Pokemorph?
It is technically impossible to capture a Pokemorph. They are humanoid more often than not. Most – not all – are capable of full-transformation, and there can be some misconceptions about them being real Pokemon, but they generally are not.
9. Can my Pokemorph character fight in a Pokemon battle?
No, a Pokemorph is not permitted to fight a Pokemon’s battle; there is a reason why they are called morphs and not full-fledged Pokemon.
10. What kind of Pokemon are available here?
All generations, actually. Fan-made Pokemon are strictly prohibited, however. The only Pokemon that are allowed are strictly canon. That is the only discrimination we will make, as far as Pokemon goes.
11. Can I request a Pokemon?
If you request a Pokemon, you will receive a level 100 magikarp. No exceptions.
12. Can I hint towards Pokemon I do or don’t like?
Yes, you can. It may or may not sway the moderator’s opinion on which Pokemon to spawn. It is not a 100% guarantee that you will be spawned, say, a Pikachu if you hint towards liking Electric-types. They may do the exact opposite and spawn a Camerupt. It is all up to the moderator modding your threads.
13. Can I bring a companion Pokemon/request a starter that isn’t available at the Laboratory?
No. It is strictly prohibited to bring a companion Pokemon. As stated previously, if you request a Pokemon, you will automatically receive a level 100 magikarp, so please don’t ask.
14. Can I skip routes?
Yes. Remember that places further along the journey have different leveled Pokemon.
15. Can I flee a battle?
Yes. If you feel overwhelmed by the Pokemon that you’re facing, it is acceptable to flee a battle. There is a chance (and depending on the type of Pokemon that you’re facing, you may not escape) that the Pokemon will continue to chase you, however.
16. What happens if I lose a battle?
If you lose a battle and your team faints, you must create a new thread in the route or town that you lost in – that is, after you have managed to heal your unconscious team, of course.
17. Can I challenge another trainer to a battle?
Of course you can! It is recommended that you establish your terms with the other person prior to battling, however. Please keep in mind our rules, and if you need help from a staff member, don’t be afraid to ask.
18. Can I leave a battle to go heal my Pokemon?
No. You can, however, use a healing item on your Pokemon, but you can only use one item. If you’re stingy and are apprehensive about wasting items, then you must wait until the battle is over until you visit a PokeCenter.
19. What happens if my team faints?
Refer to #16.
20. What is auto-healing?
It is exactly what it sounds. Your character’s team is automatically healed of all status ailments and regains full-health.
21. When does auto-healing work?
Auto-healing comes into play when you reach a designated town, village, or city. You do not auto-heal when you switch between routes.
22. Will my Pokemon remain unconscious if I capture it after it’s fainted?
Yes. You must take it to a PokeCenter to rejuvenate its wellbeing.
23. Why aren’t there any PokeCenters?
There are no PokeCenters in town because of the auto-healing that happens when you reach a town. Creating a PokeCenter would be redundant, don't you think? However, if you with to state that you went to a PokeCenter in a nearby town and came back to the route, that is alright, as long as you aren't leaving in the middle of a battle and expect to return to it.
24. Is Noctis a liquid time area?
As of December 17th 2012, Noctis has been made liquid time.
25. How do I earn money?
By posting, of course! You earn $20 for each post you submit, in fact. It may not seem like much at first glance, but trust me, the numbers do add up.
26. Where can I spend my money?
At Rusty’s Tavern heehehehee. There are a few shops available where you can spend money, and of course there’s also the occasional event that Noctis hosts that you can throw more money at.
27. Can I use vehicles for transport or is it limited to Pokemon only?
Vehicles are allowed but discouraged (think of the wildlife!). If it is plausible to travel by Pokemon then you may do so.

MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS
1. Can I become a moderator/G-moderator/administrator?
You can try, yes. You can submit an application if you think you meet the qualifications (and if we're looking for volunteers), but please bear in mind that we, as administrators, are notoriously choosy.
2. What are face claims?
Face claims are basically a photo that is used as visual reference for your character. They do not have to totally 100% accurate; they can simply demonstrate the common qualities of your character. It is required, however, that you provide proper credit to the artist. Simply sourcing Photobucket doesn't necessarily count.
3. Why is there a signature limit?
Because Proboards is dumb. - If you require a shortened url to make your character's link fit, there is a site available called TINYURL that can help with that.
4. What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the unlawful imitation of someone else's work. That is the simplest description that I have to offer. It is a bannable offense and is absolutely prohibited on Noctis. If you have committed plagiarism on our site and one of our moderators catches onto that, you will be banned. No exceptions.
5. Why can’t I access the Forbidden Peaks?
The Forbidden Peaks is inaccessible simply because it's a password-protected area that will require you to beef up your team along your journey and then gradually progress backwards to Winchester to access. The sole reason for this is because the Pokemon within the area are at least level 70 or above.
6. Can I request a moderator?
Yes, you can. Can you needlessly hassle, harass, or otherwise insult any moderator? No.
